For once, we found in the FTAdvisor an article, ‘the passive perspective’ including multiple comments from end investors highlighting the complementary role of both Investment styles.
It’s time to move away from broad-brush statements about the merits of either. Those statements are supported by promoters of one side or the other.
In fact, a broad view of performance across asset classes and categories shows that active/ passive results are decidedly mixed. Active managers are doing well in some categories and passive managers are doing well in others. Fund managers’ performance depends on time frames and market cycles.
